Leena: ‘Thank you for this lifeline connection’

I came to the City Gospel Mission recovery program in November 2023. I plan to graduate in October. That is a goal of mine, because I had no intention of facing my addiction.

When I came here, it taught me to dig deep, because I had a whole lot of issues related to my addiction.

It was hard. I had hurt and pain. But I know how to tackle it.

The recovery program has taught me spiritually, mentally, and physically. There is a life connection here. You don’t have to have an addiction to be in this program. It’s a lifeline thing.

Thank you for this lifeline connection.

I have learned to appreciate my life. My life is important to me, my kids, my grandkids, and my great grandkids.

These kids out here need to know there is something better out there. I plan to do that with my great grandkids, to let them know that they don’t have to live the lives that they see. That there are better things out there, and there is someone else they can reach out to.
