ToyMaker's Daughter

December 5, 2024
Aronoff Center for the Arts- Jarson-Kaplan Theater

ToyMaker’s Daughter is an original ballet depicting an allegory of the gospel through dance. It’s a story of precious toy dolls made by a loving and creative ToyMaker for his daughter. They are brought to life and deceptively tricked by villains into rebellion against their beloved maker. This ballet production is full of love, heartbreak, compassion, war, and redemption, sprinkled with mystery and comedy.

The dancers performing in ToyMaker’s Daughter are part of the Princesses Ballet program, a transformative initiative run by City Gospel Mission. Since its inception in 2003, the program has served hundreds and hundreds of girls, and has grown to currently serve about 500 girls aged 3 to 18 across Greater Cincinnati. These young ballerinas, from low-income families, receive free dance lessons, building character, self-esteem, and discipline through a mentoring approach. In this ballet, they showcase not just their talent, but their personal stories of growth and resilience. By supporting the Princesses Ballet, you invest in the future of these remarkable young girls, giving them the tools to shine on stage and beyond. Thank you for joining this special debut and fundraiser performance of ToyMaker’s Daughter.
